Voices Of The American Civil War

Concert performed in Spring 2017

We currently live in a time of major division in the United States. In our spring concert season, Camerata looks back on another divisive time, the American Civil War. We explore various voices of the time, including those of the soldier, the poet, the lover, and the slave. Our centerpiece is A Procession Winding Round Me, with music by Jeffrey Van and poetry by Walt Whitman. We are joined by guest guitarist Tom Harder for a program that will move, disturb, soothe and empower you to face our difficult past and our challenging future.
