David A. Seitz
FOUNDER & MUSIC DIRECTOR EMERITUS

David A. Seitz founded Camerata Singers of Elkhart (Indiana) in 1975 and served as music director through 2010. The group obtained 501c3 not-for-profit status in 1977. Under David's music directorship Camerata expanded its activities to include Yulefest and Springfest dinner concerts, sacred concerts in churches, Valentine cabaret performances, and pops concerts in the historic Elco, now Lerner, theatre.

In 2003 David led the group through its transition to become St. Joseph Valley Camerata, a professional choir. He holds a Master of Choral Conducting degree from Indiana University where he studied under Charles Webb, Fiora Contino, and Julius Herford. David's experience includes three years of college teaching and twenty-five years as a church music director. Throughout his choral work David has written many arrangements and compositions.

In 2017 he retired from First United Methodist Church of Mishawaka, Indiana, after serving for eighteen years. David always credits his wife, Christine Larson Seitz, Camerata's keyboard artist from 1978-2019, with a large share of Camerata's success under his leadership.
